THE
90-Day CPO Program
A 90-day program to improve performance and culture with your firm's Chief People Officer (CPO)
With Martin Bissett
27-Year Knowledge Partner to Accounting Firms
Designed specifically for the Chief People Officer (CPO) in your firm, the 90-Day CPO Program is for those firms who want external, experienced professional support to help team members reach their full potential or to get back on track.
In most professional service firms, there are typically three types of professionals:
- Those who are working to their expectations.
- Those who are working way below expectations.
- And those who have the potential to do much more but just need the right guidance to make progress.
In the case of those with potential, they’re often in the junior partner or senior manager categories, where they’re just not sure exactly what to do to get to the next stage of career development.
However, a far more taboo subject are those established professionals, who may well be equity partners in the firm, who are not pulling their weight and not delivering what’s expected of them.
In the latter case, their colleagues are often too close to them, and the political situation in the firm too delicate, to be effective motivators. This is where firms turn to outside support in order to see an uptick in the performance of that individual.
Such situations need to be handled delicately and professionally but yield the desired results of the partners in general.
How Can 90 Days of Focus Help Your CPO?
The 90-Day CPO Program exists for firms who want some external, experienced professional support with one or more members of their team who may not be firing on all cylinders or may need an extra arm around the shoulder to reach their true potential in 90 days.
We take a brief from leadership as to who they want to see development brought into why they’re undertaking this and how they will know when that potential has been reached.
From there, we move to Chatham House rules, where Martin and the individuals work privately to achieve the aim stated by the practice.
What Will Your CPO Get?
In 90 days, 6 sessions and 24/7 access to me, the sessions will:
Program Structure
- Sessions delivered in a one to one or a small group setting.
- Use Martin as a mentor throughout the 90 days, supporting personal and professional development.
- Work to correct unhelpful behaviours, enhance cultural alignment, or build new skill sets.
- Create the opportunity to develop a desired new skill set.
- Support those with untapped potential to step into their next phase of growth.
- Create space for honest dialogue particularly when internal teams are too close to the issue.
The 90-Day CPO Program can also apply to managing partners and CEOs, who may simply need an outside ear, an external verification that what they’re doing is right, or to get an independent view on their firm from someone who has seen over 2,000 accounting firms, from the inside, over the last four decades.
Next Steps For The 90-Day CPO Program
The 90-Day CPO Program is not a programme that should be purchased from a website, there is no ‘Buy Now’ button to be found here.
The program is not for every firm and not every firm is ready to do what it takes.
If you’re serious about supporting your people in a private, respectful and results-focused way, we’ll set up a discreet meeting to discuss what your firm wants to achieve and with whom.
